Those of you who follow my blog with an interest in Orthodox Christianity may be interested in an assessment of the role of preaching in Orthodox Christian worship. This link to Fr Michael Laffoon’s blog (newly set-up; congratulations, Fr Michael!) will offer you that perspective:

  1. That was a great article. I think you are right. Just like every part of the worship service, the sermon is a tool, yes, one that God has ordained, but one that should lead our hearers to worship God. Christ should be the center of our sermon. Our hearers need to hear from Him. That’s hard for them to do if they can’t see Christ because we have made OURSELVES too visible.
    Thanks again for the article,
    Mark
